Day One: 2.5 hours / Google Hangout
We will discuss the Business Pyramid structure, and the bare bones of all of the elements you need to create a successful enterprise as a performer or speaker.
Then we will drill down into the work you’ve done in advance to discover useful ways of expressing your own unique mission, vision, and goals for the business. An effective and clearly stated purpose for your business will inform every other decision you need to make when building that business, especially when it comes time to market that business, but few people actually understand how to achieve such a clear vision.
You’ll come away with a clearer understanding of what you have to offer, and a clear, concise way of expressing that
Day Two: 2.5 hours - Google Hangout
Marketing & Communications
Marketing professionals will tell you, “It’s ALL marketing.” And they are right. Tonight we’ll explore the basic principles of marketing. Who is your market? What are their particular desires, concerns, and problems you can solve with your product? We’ll use the worksheets from the book to answer lots of questions like that… and then to tailor your particular business – the one you defined in our Vision and Goals segment – to create a powerful and persuasive message tailored directly for the market you want to serve. We’ll also discuss the many various ways that message gets delivered – during the course of your shows, on your web site, on all of the printed materials and e-mails you send, etc.
Day Three - 2.5 hours - G+ Hangout
Systems
We know big organizations can get bogged down in bureaucracy…but it’s even worse when you’re a “too small” business. If you’re not careful, the work needed to keep the financial, legal, marketing and sales needs of your business will suck up your whole life, leaving you hating the career you’ve chosen for yourself. Systems can save you. We’ll discuss a “master system,” systems for handling finances, legal issues, communications with clients and support team, systems you’ll use for gig management, and more. You’ll actually be doing the preliminary work to set up such systems before this session, and we’ll have a look at what you’ve done during the session to make sure you're on the right track.
